The NGBA is a 501(c3) Nonprofit and 100% volunteer organization dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ basketball players. Since its inception, the NGBA has thrived thanks to the unwavering dedication of our volunteers. These individuals have not only contributed countless hours of their time but have also personally financed their travel and accommodation expenses to support the vibrant community we've built.
Due to the increase in the number of tournaments the NGBA is organizing nationwide, we are asking you for assistance to ensure that the NGBA can continue to attract and retain exceptional volunteers through your generous donation to the NGBA Volunteer Endowment Fund. The Volunteer Endowment Fund is a critical initiative aimed at relieving the financial burden on our dedicated volunteers. By contributing to this fund, you will play a vital role in enabling the NGBA to fully staff tournaments and eliminate the financial challenges that our volunteers face in covering their airfare and hotel expenses.
Take a moment and think about the profound value that the National Gay Basketball Association (NGBA) brings to our lives as a community. What is the NGBAs value to you?
Consider this: the cost of a single drink at a bar ranges from $8 to $10, and a ticket to a Beyoncé concert can reach a staggering $200 to $500 for two hours of entertainment. Now, contrast that with the NGBA events – meticulously organized over four days by a passionate team of volunteers who invest their time and dedication to create an inclusive space for us all.
The NGBA is more than just a sports association; it's a supportive community that fosters camaraderie, inclusivity, and the love of basketball. It's a space where friendships are strengthened, talents are celebrated, and acceptance is paramount. To ensure the continued growth and success of the NGBA, we are reaching out to you for support. We invite you to contribute to the NGBA Volunteer Endowment Fund, which directly aids those who generously volunteer their time to make our events a resounding success.
Your donation, regardless of size, will play a vital role in sustaining the NGBA and ensuring that we continue to provide a vibrant and welcoming community for all. It's an investment in the shared experiences that define us and the values we hold dear.Thank you for the support.
The National Gay Basketball Association strongly suggest each player have an annual physical exam to ensure that your health will allow you to participate in the sport of basketball safely.
If you have not seen your doctor recently, we encourage you to do so ASAP.
